Biography
Complimented by their unbelievable family harmonies and amazing friendship, “Teale and Tara (Twisselman)” are different than your average vocal duo. Born and raised on a horse and cattle ranch, Teale and Tara’s hopes and dreams were planted and nourished in the matchless soil of Carrisa Plains near California’s Central Coast. The ranch their family has been calling home for over seven generations has harvested two young women, Teale (25) and Tara (23)...both blessed with the gift of singing. Embracing their self expression thru song at a young age has inspired them over the years to try to touch the hearts and lives of others with their passion of singing. Packing up and leaving home with just their truck, a u-haul and hearts full of hope and determination on January 19th, 2007, Teale and Tara arrived in Nashville a few days later to begin the adventure of a lifetime. Not knowing a soul, the girls strived to be successful and chased their dreams at full speed. They were able to do this not only because of their love as sisters but also their uncompromised bond of friendship. In other words they are not only SISTERS...THEY ARE TRULY BEST FRIENDS!
The beautifully crafted sound created by this new and rising duo is like no other, with the texture of Teale’s velvet touch and the flair of Tara’s sultry edge. Their harmonies will give you goose bumps while their voices will melt your heart. Winding together, trading off between lead and harmony, Teale and Tara will not only entertain you with their sound, but with their energy, love for people and their knack for comedy. Country to the core and rooted like an oak in the western lifestyle, these girls were influenced from the time they were babies by the country songs of Don Williams, Johnny Cash, Keith Whitley, Dolly Parton, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alabama, The Judds, Reba, Tanya Tucker and Pasty Cline just to name a few, as well as musical influences from classic rock artists such as Journey, U2, Bonnie Rait, Joan Jett, Tina Turner, The Eagles & Neil Diamond. Growing up they also listened to incredible entertainers that have helped make music what it is today, with the lineup consisting of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lawrence Welk, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day, Aretha Franklin, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Their grandmother, Phyllis Madonna, was a great influence as well with her amazing ability to entertain any audience with the presence of her huge smile, beautiful voice and talent of playing her accordion. Singing lullaby’s to their ears as she entertained numerous nights for numerous people and special events at their family’s hotel/restaurant, The Madonna Inn. Born to perform, singing in their school plays, talent shows, weddings and for other countless events, Teale and Tara have now mastered their craft and are eager to move you and make your emotions dance. |
